چکیده
Memristor-based accelerator (MBA) has demonstrated its capability in accelerating matrix-vector multiplication (MVM) with high performance and energy efficiency. However, it is hard to determine whether how well an application can benefit from MBAs a heterogeneous computing architecture. In this article, we propose simulation framework called MHSim evaluate the efficiency of applications running both CPUs. provides flexible system-level interfaces circuit-level models for designers configure architectures. We design general-purpose MBA which enables floating-point computation general matrix-matrix (GEMM). Our quantify different architectures various applications. validate our SPICE accuracy via several case studies. Experimental results demonstrate that deviations consumption latency are only 0.47% 0.49% on average compared SPICE-based simulation.

A MapReduce Framework for Heterogeneous Computing Architectures
Nowadays, an increasing number of computational systems are equipped with heterogeneous compute resources, i.e., following different architecture. This applies to the level of a single chip, a single node and even supercomputers and large-scale clusters. With its impressive price-to-performance ratio as well as power efficiency compared to traditional multicore processors, graphics processing u...
متن کاملSoDA - Framework for the Simulation of Distributed Computing Architectures
ions are simplifications of real world counterparts. The modelling mechanism provides categories of abstractions that should help and guide the modeller in the process of modelling, i.e. the process of translating the real system into abstractions. SoDA offers two categories of abstractions, namely components and processes. The nature of these has been explained earlier in this document. It is ...
متن کاملA Memristor-based Neuromorphic Computing Application
Artificial neural networks have recently received renewed interest because of the discovery of the memristor. The memristor is the fourth basic circuit element, hypothesized to exist by Leon Chua in 1971 and physically realized in 2008. The two-terminal device acts like a resistor with memory and is therefore of great interest for use as a synapse in hardware ANNs. Recent advances in memristor ...
متن کاملIntegration of nanoscale memristor synapses in neuromorphic computing architectures
Conventional neuro-computing architectures and artificial neural networks have often been developed with no or loose connections to neuroscience. As a consequence, they have largely ignored key features of biological neural processing systems, such as their extremely low-power consumption features or their ability to carry out robust and efficient computation using massively parallel arrays of ...
متن کاملA Framework for Heterogeneous Desktop Parallel Computing
With industry moving to a multi-core design in search of performance gains, developers must incorporate this paradigm shift into their designs as well. We have so far mostly avoided the multi-threaded approach fearing the associated concurrency problems. Previous research at Liacs has created tools that automatically identify independent processes and their data flows inside an application. In ...
